Boy Scouts Take WEBELOs Fishing

Boy Scout Troop 39 recently hosted a fishing campout and invited the WEBELOs from Chipley Pack 339 to come along.

Camping with a troop they plan to join is a requirement for a WEBLO Scout to earn his "Arrow of Light" award.  This is the highest award that a Cub Scout can earn before "crossing" over to the realm of Boy Scout.

Elwood Gilbert of Highview Circle off Orange Hill Road invited the Boy Scouts to come camp out at his fish farm this past weekend.

After a night of below freezing temperatures the boys spent the day catching their supper.

A fish fry of catfish and bream was enjoyed by all.

The expericed scouts instructed the WEBLOS what they have learned about building fires, cleaning fish, preparing and cooking meals, and a number of other skills that scouting has taught them.

The WEBLOS will be moving up later this year to join as fellow Boy Scouts of Troop 39.
