Some of those attending Tuesday’s meeting of the Chipley Kiwanis Club remembered the FFA program in place in Florida since the late 1920’s and proudly welcomed members of the current program to their meeting.

The FFA students started their presentation quizzing the members about their knowledge of the program which started in 1928 in Virginia and was approved in Florida in 1929.

The FFA program provides students basic knowledge in future ag-related career paths, as well as gives training in leadership to those involved in the program.

Ag careers range from agribusiness to genetic engineering, veterinarians, equipment salespersons, ag photojournalists, to being ag mechanics.

The club also presented a check to Matt Orwatt for the upcoming Farm-City Breakfast that will be held Tuesday, Nov. 14th at 7:30 a.m. at the Washington County Ag Center in Chipley.
