‘Ms. Frizzle’ visits Vernon Elementary School ………

Mrs. Judy Griffis, Third-grade teacher at Vernon Elementary School and Zedra Hawkins, Washington County Public Library have partnered up once again to delight and educate the students.

Bringing the Magic School Bus to life in early science illustrates to the students it is rewarding to work on something that produces results that are fun and informative. Ms. Frizzle, of the Magic School Bus, was seen roaming the hallways and entering the third-grade classes recently. She might have looked a bit like Mrs. Zedra!

Ms. Frizzle is known to say, “So get messy, make mistakes, get out there and explore!”

After reading the book, The Magic School Bus Sees Stars, to each third-grade class, she did a ‘star’ experiment with the classes making their hypothesis. The students then made Astro-Liz, the newest constellation in the sky!

Ms. Zedra, who works with the Washington County Library System says,  “We, the library are providing programs for the schools to enhance curriculum. Public schools partnering with public libraries is a win/win. Not only are we creating stronger institutions, but stronger communities.”
