Chipley City Council holds Sept. 8th Workshop Session ………..

Council members review agenda items for Sept. 12th Meeting.

After hearing reports from the various City Department heads council members discussed the various items on the agenda for their Sept. 12th meeting.


Council members were informed that 95 young people have already signed up to play soccer and the registration period has been extended one week.


Agenda items for next week’s meeting include the following:

  •  Ordinance No. 945 – Natural Gas Rates.  This Ordinance will update language and update natural gas rates/calculations in the City Code.
  •  Ordinance no. 946 – Code Enforcement.  This Ordinance will update language in the City Code related to Code Enforcement.
  •  Resolution No. 17-17 – FY 16/17 budget Amendment.  This budget amendment includes an increase in the FY 16/17 Budget in the amount of $131,529.
  •  Request for a Manufactured Home Siting & Variance – 680 Deermont Circle.  Deborah Brown.  The Planning & Zoning Board met on August 24, 2017 and are recommending approval of the request to site a manufactured home at 680 Deermont Circle in Chipley.
  •   Moratorium on Distribution of Medical Marijuana dispensaries
  •   CRA Administration Contract Renewal.  The Chamber of Commerce is requesting no increase at this time for the annual CRA Administration Contract in the amount of $2,075 per month.
  •   CRA Alleyway Plan Update
  •   CRA Mentor Program Applicant – Alesha Pridgen.  The CRA Board is requesting approval of the Business Mentoring Program Candidate, Ms. Alesha Pridgen of By Your Side Home Care Services, LLC.
  •  Special Event Application for the Chipley High School Homecoming Parade on Oct. 13, 2017.
  •  Special Event Application for the Annual Trunk or Treat event at Pals Park Soccer Field on Oct. 28, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  •  Special Event Application for 5K Run/Walk.  First Baptist Church Chipley would like to hold the event to raise funds for Avalyn Barber.  The event will be held on Oct. 21, 2017 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  •  Impact Fee Waiver request for Parcel ID 00000000-00-2161-000 located on 8th Street
  •  Disposition of a 2002 Ford F-150, Water Utilities Department.
  •  Disposition of a 2002 Ford F-250, Water Utilities Department.
  •  Recreation Advisory Committee Appointment.
  •  P&Z Board Member Appointment.
  •  Employee Classification Document Addition.
  •  Employee Pay Plan Update.
