Chipley, Florida High School Hosts Regional Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, August 26, 2017

Volleyball players are heroes.  As tough as football, as fast as basketball and as coordinated as baseball, volleyball is probably one of the most underrated high school sports.

This weekend, on Saturday, August 26, 2017, on the campus of Chipley, Florida High School, spectators caught a glimpse of rising stars in the sport of high school volleyball, with teams from Walton, Altha, North Bay Haven, Liberty, Cottondale, Blountstown, Bay, Rutherford, Marianna, Laurel Hill and Graceville High Schools joining Chipley High School in an Invitational Volleyball Tournament.

From 8AM until 4PM, teams were paired on three volleyball courts, using the Roulhac Middle School and Chipley High School gymnasiums, with an elimination process boiling down the best of the best over 24 games.

Chipley went the distance, beating Liberty County High School in a semi-final game for an opportunity to play Blountstown for all the marbles.  Although eventually falling to Blountstown in the final round, the Chipley Tigers proudly represented Chipley, playing world-class volleyball against tough opposition.

We will be highlighting some of the other games in successive galleries, but here are some highlights of the Chipley-Liberty County semi-final game on Saturday,  as seen in these photos by Real Florida Media, a subsidiary of The Goulding Agency in Chipley, Florida.
