Washington County Planning Commission grants variances for Vernon property ……….

by Kathy Foster

Planning Commission members acted on the requests from property owners Allen and Misty Byrd Aug. 17th granting variances for a nonresidential building addition and a minimum setback requirement.

Both variance requests dealt with property located at 3031/3035 Main Street in Vernon.

The Byrds, business owners of Holmes Creek Pizza & Pasta, which is located at the Main Street address, plan to expand an existing structure by approximately 248 feet.

The subject property also contains an open pole barn that was constructed some time ago too close to the property line.  The Planning Commission members also granted a variance to clear up that situation.
