Washington County officials reaching out into community with new offices ……….

Multiple departments establishing new offices.

In recent days several departments in the Washington County government have reported plans to establish offices in town halls throughout the county.

 

The most recent is the Sheriff’s Department.  Deputy Harrison announced recently that department is in the process of setting up mini-offices in Caryville,  Ebro, Vernon and the Wausau area to provide better coverage for the entire county.   Talking with Town Council members at their most recent meeting,  Harrison discussed using some portion of the Town Hall for such a location but added that he is also talking with the Emergency Management Center near Wausau about a possible spot there.

 

County officials have also noted that town halls may also be used as locations to disseminate information for the county’s building department.   However, they’ve added that completed paperwork will still have to be turned in at the Building Department’s office in Chipley.
