Pedestrian dies in Jackson County incident ……..

Forty-one-year-old Teresa Lynn Brown of Slocomb, Alabama died early this morning as a result of injuries sustained when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 52-year-old John Paul Kelley of Rehoboth, Alabama.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), when Brown (a pedestrian), was crossing US 231 she walked into the path of the 2006 Ford F-350 driven by Kelley.  The FHP says Brown was walking westbound attempting to cross over the southbound travel lanes of US 23  approximately 1 .5 miles north of State Road 73 at the time of the incident.  FHP says Brown walked into the path of the Ford 350 and violated the right-of-way of the vehicle.

The front of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian and the vehicle came to final rest facing south on the southbound outside shoulder of US 231.  The pedestrian came to final rest facing east on the outside travel lane of US 231 south of the site of the impact.
