Chipley Police report a good 4th of July ………

Chipley Police Chief Scott Thompson said there were very few problems while residents celebrated the July 4th holiday.

Police, Recreation, Code Enforcement and Public Works Departments reported things were running smoothly as they reported to the Chipley City Council during Thursday night’s Workshop Session.


The council also discussed the following agenda items that will be on their Council meeting agenda at Tuesday night’s monthly meeting:


  •  Approval of Ordinance No. 942 – Amendment to Chapter 20 – Zoning – Will increase fee from $100 to $500.
  •  Approval of request for Manufactured Home Siting & Variance at 760 Orange Street –  Approved by Planning & Zoning Board.
  •   Approval of a request for a variance at 995 Haywood Drive – Approved by Planning & Zoning Board.
  •   Approval for resurfacing on Watts Avenue from 5th Street to Main Street by GAC Contractors in the amount of $16,437.51.
  •   Updated the Council on the Fiscal Year 2015-16 Annual Audit.
