Wausau Garden Club honors community Veterans ……..

Members of the Wausau Garden Club closed out their activities for the 2016-17 club year hosting a luncheon for military Veterans of the community.

Hosted at the Wausau Pentecostal Holiness Church,  the May 4th event brought together a number of Veterans, family members and friends to recognize the important role played by the U.S. Military forces.

 

Those  area Veterans present for the luncheon included:   Dwight Jones, Perry Wells, Ron Plowe, John McCormick, Glen Barr, Jeanne Betts, Jay and Jack Glasgow, O’Neil Clark, Walt Schils, Fredrick Kolmetz and Charles Park.

Among those on hand to honor the Veterans was Washington County Commissioner Tray Hawkins who thanked all of the former members of the military for their service to their country.  He praised them for putting the nation’s welfare above their own and striving to make America great for years to come.

 

Food was prepared and served by students of the Bethlehem Culinary Academy.

 

Entertainment for the luncheon was performed by the Harmony Shores.
