Trump Paid $38 Million in Federal Taxes in 2005
Prior to an exclusive interview on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” this evening, the White House released a statement saying that Donald Trump made more than $150 million in 2005, paying $35 million in federal taxes.
The White House has said that Trump is still under audit, and thus will not release his full tax returns. It seems as though they were compelled to do so, however, due to the MSNBC exclusive.
The White House release explicitly called out the leaker, journalist David Cay Johnston, for “illegally” publishing the document.
Johnston is a pulitzer prize winner, and told Rachel Maddow that he received the returns anonymously in his physical mailbox.
President Trump will be Vindicated by DoJ
Press Secretary Sean Spicer said in today’s briefing that despite having shown no evidence thus far that the Obama administration wiretapped the Trump campaign, the President is “confident” he will be vindicated.
” I’ll let the House and Senate and I’ll let the DOJ report this. But as I commented in the past, I think there’s significant reporting about surveillance techniques that have existed throughout the 2016 election. I’ll leave it to them to issue their report. But I think he feels very confident it that will ultimately come to this — will vindicate him.”

President Trump Lunches with Saudi Prince
Today, amidst all the snow, President Trump hosted Deputy Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
A readout of the meeting is not yet available, but it will likely be released within the day. We can assume that they spoke about the Middle East, ISIS and the overall relationship between the two countries.
