I-10 crash sends one to hospital …….

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP)  reports that 29-year-old Ahmad Amir Howard of Tallahassee was transported to Bay Medical Center following a 8:20 a.m. crash Friday on I-10 in Washington County.


According to the FHP report,  22-year-old Megan Joy Chilcoat of Tampa, Florida and Howard were traveling west on I-10 approximately two miles east of County Road 279 at the time of the accident.


Both vehicles were within the number 2 travel lane.  The FHP said  Chilcoat failed to reduce speed causing the front bumper of her Chevrolet Sonic to collide with the rear bumper of the Toyota Camry being driven by Howard.


The Toyota rotated counter clockwise and exited the roadway onto the south shoulder and traveled into the wood line.  Upon entering the wood line the Toyota the Toyota collided with several trees and came to final rest in an upright position facing east.  After impact the Chevrolet then exited the roadway onto the north shoulder and came to final rest within the emergency lane facing west in an upright position.
