Obituary for Millard Mitchell Walters, Sr.

Millard Mitchell Walters Sr. “Pops”, age 77, went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2016. He was born on October 16, 1939. Millard was born and millardpicspent his life in the Washington County Florida area. Millard was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed life and being with his family. Millard was a professional team roper who won several buckles on the rodeo circuit. Millard worked as an OTR driver going on to retire as a well and pump service man.

Millard was preceded in death by his parents Ollie and George Walters; his son Millard Mitchell Walters Jr. “Dick”; his sister Luvenia Walters Carter; his brothers Milton, William George “Buddy” and Lamar Walters.
Millard is survived by his devoted wife Darby Walters; his children James Creamer, Jeannette and Daniel Adams, Matthew Stafford, Jessica Hagans, Fanny Danell and David Carter, Doris Ann Owens, Frankie O’Neal Junior “Bubba”, Joe Buck, Patricia, Steven Millard, 15 grandchildren , numerous great grandchildren, nieces, brother Alex and wife Pat, brother Howard and wife Betty, sisters Lottie Moore, and Laural. Millard had many loved ones and honorary children whom he helped to raise or care for. Among those were Michelle, Preston, Diane, Angie, Amm, Mike and Lorna.
A memorial service will be held at Gap Pond Church at 11:00 a.m. on December 3, 2016. A special thank you to Emerald Coast Hospice out of Chipley Florida, Shane Obert @ Obert Funeral Home in Chipley Florida, Brother Ernie, and Dawn and Norma Frost, as well as the many others that offered their prayers, help, and condolences.
