If you are a senior residents of the Caryville area you are cordially invited to drop by the Caryville Community Center every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for fun, lunch and a learning experience.
The group turned out last Wednesday to celebrate the second anniversary of the Senior Center and get a look at some of the services available to them through organizations available in Washington County.
Also displayed were two tables of gift items competed by local artisans – one of handicrafted items and another of handmade jewelry.
Those dropping by the Senior Center have the opportunity every week to learn how to knit, crochet, make jewelry, work on a variety of crafts, along with learning how to made alcohol rubs, lotion and soaps. They are also putting together a cookbook and a history of the families of the area. Additionally, they do blood pressure checks once a month and have speakers bringing up to date information on a number of subjects.
Plan now to stop by the Caryville Community Center next week if you live in the area and have some fun.
