The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of several individuals last weekend.
On June 20, while on patrol in the Pittman Community, deputies observed a red Ford mustang driving recklessly. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle; however the vehicle fled and led deputies on a high speed chase over several miles. The chase ended when the driver ran into the ditch after crossing into Geneva County Alabama. The driver, 39-year-old Randy J Gibson of Hartford, Alabama then fled on foot but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. Gibson was transported to the Holmes County Jail.
Gibson was charged with: Fleeing and attempting to elude, Willful and Wanton Reckless Driving, Attaching Tag Not Assigned, Resisting an Officer without Violence
Later on June 20, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 2 near Esto on a black Ford mustang for equipment violations. When the deputy made contact with the driver, 32-year-old Victor Brooks Wilson of Bonifay, he observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, the deputy discovered methamphetamine. Brooks was placed under arrest and transported to the Holmes County Jail.
Wilson was charged with: Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
On Monday, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 81 near Ponce de Leon on a white SUV. While speaking with the driver and occupants, deputies observed an odor of marijuana. During a subsequent search, deputies located several ounces of marijuana in the vehicle, along with drug paraphernalia. The driver, 24-year-old Jeb Travis Chaney of Defuniak Springs and the passengers, 21-year-old Chelsea Danielle Miller of Ponce de Leon and 24-year-old Michael Anderson Harris of Freeport were placed under arrest and transported to the Holmes County Jail. All three are charged with, Possession of Marijuana over 20 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
